Over time, we started paying more attention to what we bring into our home — and just as much attention to what we don’t. Just small shifts, here and there.
Living in a small house with three daughters and one bathroom, we feel everything a little more. Every drawer. Every cabinet. Every surface. It's all premium space.
There isn’t much room for excess — and honestly, we’ve come to appreciate that in a way. One of the places we’ve felt this most is in how we clean. Like most homes, we used to have a different product for everything — something for the counters, something for the bathroom, something for glass, something for floors. And with five people sharing one bathroom, things don’t stay clean for long. It’s a space that’s used constantly — which means we’re cleaning constantly, too. And over time, it started to feel like more than it needed to be. More bottles under the sink. More to keep stocked. More decisions to make in the middle of everyday life.
So we started simplifying. Not by overhauling everything overnight, but by paying attention to what we actually reached for. What worked. What didn’t. What felt easy to keep up with — and what didn’t. We started leaning into fewer things that could do more. Things we could use across different spaces without having to think too much about it. We’ve found that when something is simple, we’re more likely to keep up with it. And in a home like ours — full, busy, and tight on space — that matters.
It’s less about having the right product for every single task, and more about having something you can reach for without thinking. We didn’t feel the need to replace everything. But over time, we’ve been drawn toward systems that are easier to live with — things that fit into our day without adding to it. Less to store. Less to manage. Less to think about.
We’re still in that process. Still learning what works best for our home, our routines, and this season of life. But one thing has become clear — the more we simplify, the more everything else feels just a little lighter.
We’ll be sharing more of what this has looked like for us soon.
